It is compatible with virtually all classes of epoxy resins used in thermoset plastics and protective coatings applications.

It improves the solubility of highly aromatic epoxy resins without reducing functionality. It is used as a reactive diluent for fast setting adhesives, low temperature curing floor, concrete patching compounds and hard abrasion resistant clear castings.

Low viscosity aliphatic diepoxide compound based on 1,6-hexanediol. It is intended for use as a reactive diluent for high viscosity epoxy resins. It is compatible at all concentrations with those resins and resin/diluent blends can be cured using any epoxy resin curing agents. The difunctionality of RAD 986 helps to produce formulations with improved chemical and heat resistance compared to formulations containing monofunctional diluents. Formulations containing RAD 986 exhibits excellent wettability making them ideal candidates for composites and impregnation applications. RAD 986 has low moisture, low hydrolysable chlorine and residual Epichlorohydrin contents. Its’ very low color makes RAD 986 the diluent of choice in color critical applications.

It is particularly useful where low volatility levels are required so that problems in poorly ventilated areas are minimized. It has a very low order of toxicity and low skin sensitivity.
